He gives and takes away.....?

Sometimes we Christians can be extreamely unmature when it comes to the Word of God.
Yes, I do believe the Bible to be without false and to be fullt true - still not everything in the Bible is true!

The stories we have in the Bible is the stories God want us to have; and they are true stories. Still, some of the words From the stories is spoken by men, and even sometimes by the devil, and that's lies!
Genesis 3:4 - "The serpant Said: Surely you wont die!" = A lie!
2 Kings 5:21-22 = A lie!
Mark 14:71 = A lie!

A few years ago a famous and anointed worship leader wrote a song that has become extreamely popular. The song is great in every way, and speaks about blessing God in all circumstances in life - great!
But then, in the end of the song, the lyrics says over and over again: "You give and take away, you give and take away, but My heart Will choose to say: blessed be your name!"
That My friends, is a big, fat ugly lie!

Some might say: but that's a quote from the Bible Daniel!
Yes, it is - but still it is a lie!

The quote is from the first chapter in Book of Job in the Old Testament. The problem: if you read the whole two first chapters you Will see that God didn't take anything away - it was the devil that killed and stole it all!
Job has to work on his attitude in the entire book, and in chapter 42, after God has spoken to him, he takes it all back!!

In other words: in the worship song, with closed eyes and with our hands lifted high, we accuse God for something the devil did! We are calling God a slaughter, a thief and a murdurer....

I know the intention From the song writer was the best, and I know it just lack of knowledge... Still My heart aches everytime I hear this song, and I believe God feels the same....

The sum of the Bible: God is good, nothing but good and good again! He gives and gives again, he gives and gives again....

Let us sing worship songs that speaks about that kind of truths instead!
Bless u!

  1. Good point Daniel and so true, many christians lack of knowledge of God's goodness! There are many more songs that are similar, non biblical, for example: "How great is our God", the song writer writes, Godhead three in one, false, it's, Godhead one in three, right? And also the song: "Draw me close to you", the Bible says in James 4:8 "Draw near to God and He will near to you". WE shall draw us near Him, HE shalt not draw us near Him. End of story! Keep up the good work for the Glory of God's Kingdom!

  4. If you had spoken with that worship leader sometime, he had probably said to you that he is meaning that he takes away our sins..
